Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour

Early in the morning, at the scheduled time, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the journey south toward the Collasuyo region, one of the four territories of the Inca Empire (Tawantinsuyo). After approximately two hours (78 km), we will arrive at the community of Paucarpata (Cusipata), where we will have a short rest, the opportunity to purchase water or snacks, and enjoy a buffet breakfast.

We will then continue by vehicle for about one more hour to the base camp in Japura (Pitumarca). After a safety briefing and instructions, we will begin the ATV ride toward Rainbow Mountain. The route covers approximately 15 km and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes along gradual mountain roads. During the ride, you will observe high-altitude landscapes, glaciers reaching up to 4,925 meters, and South American camelids such as alpacas and vicuñas. Upon reaching the Qosqopata area, we will walk approximately 30 minutes uphill to reach the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint.

At Rainbow Mountain, you will have sufficient time to explore the area and take photographs of the colorful mineral formations and surrounding Andean scenery. Afterward, we will return by ATV to base camp (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes), where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Paucarpata for lunch. Following lunch, we will begin the return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m., with drop-off at your hotel.
