Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We recommend acclimatizing for at least one day in Cusco before joining this tour. Once the group is complete (maximum 16 participants), we will travel south for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the district of Pitumarca.

Upon arrival, we will enjoy breakfast prepared by our team. After a short break, there will be time to purchase water, snacks, or other personal items before continuing toward the district of Combapata.

Before reaching the town, we will stop to take photographs of the colonial bridge of Combapata. We will then continue along a dirt road following the left bank of the Salcca River. Along the route, you will observe native alpacas and typical high-Andean landscapes until arriving at the community of Palccoyo, located at 4,100 meters above sea level.

From this point, you will have panoramic views of the Palccoyo colorful mountain range, including three visible striped mountains and a distinctive rocky valley. This tour is a suitable option for travelers who prefer a shorter and less demanding hike. The guide will offer the option of a 40-minute walk to higher viewpoints for improved panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding valley.

After approximately 2 to 3 hours in the area, we will return to Pitumarca for lunch and then continue back to Cusco along the same route. Arrival in Cusco is approximately at 6:30 p.m., with drop-off at your hotel or nearby location.
