The Machu Picchu Full Day Tour offers the opportunity to explore the Inca citadel in a single day with guided assistance. During the visit, you will discover the architectural precision of Inca construction, walking through stone pathways, terraces, and ceremonial sectors within the archaeological site.
The journey includes a scenic train ride through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes, followed by a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Throughout the visit, you will learn about the historical, cultural, and architectural significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by the mountain and cloud forest landscape of the region.
In the morning, at the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station (approximately 2 hours). From there, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, your guide will meet you and accompany you to the bus station for the 30-minute ascent to Machu Picchu. The bus follows a winding road climbing approximately 400 meters to reach the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas.
After entering the archaeological site, we will begin a guided tour lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. During the visit, you will explore the main sectors of the citadel, including the Main Plaza, Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana (Sacred Sun Dial), Royal Quarters, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condor, and other important areas within Machu Picchu.
Following the guided tour, you will have free time to take photographs before returning to Aguas Calientes. You may have lunch at one of the local restaurants (lunch not included). Later, according to train schedule availability, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then continue by bus to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Important Information
Since January 1, 2019, Machu Picchu operates under a one-way circuit system. Once you pass through a sector, you cannot return. Re-entry to the site is not permitted after exit. The only exception applies to visitors holding an additional ticket for Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain. In these cases, the duration of the guided tour of the main citadel will be adjusted according to the mountain entrance schedule (approximately 1 hour for Machu Picchu Mountain and 2 hours for Huayna Picchu).
Important Advice
We recommend carrying only a small daypack with essentials such as water (please note that Machu Picchu is a plastic-free zone and single-use plastic bottles are not permitted), passport, entrance ticket, cash, sun hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Leave larger luggage at your hotel in Cusco. Please allow extra time for possible queues for the shuttle bus and train. Your guide will assist you throughout the process.
